Quality Assurance (Student) Intern — the bug stops with you.

About the role

Imperial Healthtech builds advanced management systems for hospitals and clinics, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. As a Quality Assurance Intern, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of our healthcare management systems — running tests, documenting issues, and ensuring our products are user-friendly and functionally robust.

This internship is built specifically for students looking for an internship placement that converts to academic credit (MBKM / mandatory internship / kerja praktek) or serves as primary data for a thesis or final project. Full documentation — MoU, official assignment letter, final report, mentor evaluation — is provided.

What you'll do

  • Product testing: conduct comprehensive testing on new features, updates, and bug fixes to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Bug tracking: identify, document, and report software bugs or usability issues, working closely with the development team until resolved
  • Test case authoring: develop and execute test cases, report on test results, and provide feedback to improve product quality and user experience
  • User support: respond to user inquiries from hospital staff, troubleshoot, and help resolve issues they encounter
  • Documentation: write and maintain release notes and product documentation so users always have up-to-date info on the latest changes
  • Process improvement: assist in refining QA processes to make testing more efficient and effective over time

What you'll learn

  • 🧪 Real-world software testing methodologies — manual, regression, exploratory, smoke
  • 🐛 How bug reports actually get triaged, prioritized, and fixed in a fast-shipping team
  • 🏥 Indonesian healthcare workflows — BPJS, SIMRS, hospital roles and pain points
  • 🤖 How a modern team uses AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) to accelerate test design and bug reproduction
  • 📋 How to write release notes and documentation that real users actually read
  • 💼 How to communicate with engineers, product managers, and hospital users — three very different audiences

Who we're looking for

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (3rd / 4th year preferred)
  • Strong interest in software testing, quality assurance, and product development
  • Basic understanding of software testing methodologies and tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Willing to work on-site in Semarang full-time
  • Financially able to commit to an unpaid internship for 3–6 months

The AI part

We won't expect you to be an AI expert on day one — but if you've never used AI tools voluntarily, this internship isn't the right fit.

  • You're actively using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) — not just heard about them
  • Excited to learn how a production team uses AI for real work, including test case generation and bug repro

Bonus skills (not required)

  • Experience with QA tools and platforms
  • Familiarity with documentation tools and bug-tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Linear)
  • Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages
  • Background or interest in healthcare, biology, or medicine

What we offer

  • Hands-on experience in software testing and quality assurance — on real production systems, not a sandbox
  • Work directly with product managers and developers on real-world projects
  • Potential for full-time employment based on performance and business needs
  • Learn and grow in a supportive and dynamic environment
  • Certificate and recommendation letter based on performance
  • Full documentation for your university (MoU, assignment letter, final report, mentor evaluation)

Logistics

  • Duration: 3–6 month internship (start date flexible to match your campus schedule)
  • Location: On-site Semarang, Jl. Gunung Sawo No. 17
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00 WIB
  • Compensation: Unpaid. We accept students for formal internships convertible to academic credit (MBKM / SKS) or used as a primary data source for your thesis.
